Megabyte

The Caroline Guitar Company Megabyte is a lo-fi digital delay pedal based on dual vintage-style digital delay chips. Building on the earlier Kilobyte design, it offers up to 1200 ms of delay time along with expanded performance and routing features. Controls include delay time, repeats, mix, modulation, and a +21 dB preamp drive section that can add grit and saturation to the delayed signal. A dedicated tap tempo function supports multiple rhythmic subdivisions, while a secondary Havoc footswitch can trigger runaway oscillation and self-feedback effects for more experimental sounds. Additional features include selectable true bypass or trails mode, internal controls for dry-kill operation and oscillation headroom, and extended delay range compared to the original Kilobyte. The Megabyte combines traditional digital delay sounds with modulation, overdriven repeats, and controllable self-oscillation.
