Dunes

The EarthQuaker Devices Dunes is a compact overdrive based on the same Tube Screamer-inspired platform found in the Palisades. It delivers the familiar mid-focused character of a classic 808-style overdrive while offering expanded tonal flexibility through selectable clipping and bandwidth options. Standard Gain, Tone, and Level controls are complemented by a Bright mode, two bandwidth settings, and three clipping voices. MOSFET clipping provides a tighter, crunchier response, asymmetrical silicon clipping offers a sound closest to a traditional TS808, and the no-clipping mode functions as a powerful clean boost or op-amp distortion. The Full Range bandwidth setting increases low-end response, making the Dunes suitable for a wider variety of guitars, amplifiers, and gain-stacking applications.
