Kanso

Kanso is a collaboration between Josh Smith and Poly Effects. The Fknob combines a footswitch, LED feedback, and rotary control into one rugged, intuitive mechanism. Tap to engage or bypass, double tap to switch between Bias and Character, and hold to change diode types. Each diode acts as a preset, remembering your Bias and Character settings, with full MIDI control available. Bias sets the first gain stage, shaping how hard the signal hits the clipping section—from clean and dynamic to saturated, spitty fuzz. Character adjusts the post-gain output level and overall feel, acting like a master volume that interacts with Bias for subtle boosts or aggressive drive. Choose between Schottky (fast and punchy), Germanium (smooth and vintage), LED (bold and cutting), or Silicon (tight and versatile) clipping to tailor your tone.
