While classic ring mod can sound cold and mechanical, this pedal adds pitch tracking inspired by synthesizer cross-modulation—making it far easier to dial in harmonic, usable tones that stay consistent even when changing keys. Switch to fixed carrier mode for traditional ring modulation, with stepped notes tuned for guitar (E–A–D–G–B–E–A) and fine tuning within ±3 semitones. “Order” keeps things musical, while “Chaos” unlocks an eight-octave carrier range for experimental textures. Best placed early in the signal chain, the SubDecay Vitruvian Mod pairs beautifully with drives, fuzz, filters, delay, and compression for rich, synth-like sound design.
