Wren and Cuff
The White Elk
Report incorrect information
The White Elk by Wren and Cuff is a recreation of the rare 1970s Elk Super Fuzz Sustainar, a quirky Big Muff “Triangle” copy known for its raw, unpredictable character. While the originals were cheaply built and unreliable, their drifting components and carbon-comp resistors gave them a distinctive, noisy mojo that set them apart.
Favored by experimental players for its aggressive personality, the White Elk captures that uneven, rumbling low end and unusual mid-forward tone. The tone control behaves differently from typical Muffs, offering more mids and a unique snarl with gritty, brown-tinged feedback.
Built with modern reliability but faithful voicing, The White Elk delivers raunchy, textured fuzz that stands out from traditional Muff circuits.
