The Fade Font ’94 delivers the fierce, high-gain voice of a rare 1994 Russian-made Muff variant. Inspired by one of Matt’s prized originals, this circuit stood apart with unusual component values and 150K pots, producing a louder, more aggressive character with papery grit and a tight, commanding low end. Recreating that tone required years of careful refinement, including custom-fabricated 150K pots with precise tapers. This is not a Tall Font Russian in a different box. The Tall Font captures a lower-gain, lower-output transitional design, while the Fade Font ’94 is built for saturation, authority, and impact. Named after the famously fading graphics of the originals, the full-sized enclosure honors the vintage aesthetic while providing modern durability. Bold, distinctive, and unmistakably Russian in attitude, the Fade Font ’94 stands as a faithful tribute to a uniquely aggressive Muff voice.
