Harmonic Distorter Cream
Report incorrect information
The Harmonic Distorter is a tribute to the cult-classic Interfax Harmonic Percolator, the ultra-rare early 70s distortion from Milwaukee that later gained fame through Steve Albini. Known for its raw character and rich even-order harmonics, it delivers tape-recorder-style saturation that cuts effortlessly through a mix while remaining highly responsive to picking dynamics.
This version features carefully hand-matched NOS Soviet germanium transistors and removes the original clipping diodes for higher output, less compression and a wider tonal range, from vintage clean boost to amp-like fuzzy distortion. A treble-bleed circuit preserves clarity as you roll back the volume.
Controls are simple and powerful: Harmonics (gain) and Balance (output).
