Brown Sauce

Grobert Pedals developed an exact replica of the iconic Lovetone Brown Source, made possible through access to an original unit. While many schematics available online contain errors, these were carefully avoided to ensure accuracy. This version is a true 1:1 recreation in sound and response, housed in a significantly smaller enclosure for improved pedalboard integration. Often described as difficult to tame, the Brown Source performs best as an add-on to a tube amplifier rather than a standalone overdrive. It is designed to push an amp to its limits and enhance its natural character. The pedal features four controls: Volume, Gain, Tone, and a 4-position rotary switch. The Tone control works similarly to a Big Muff-style EQ: below noon it boosts lows and cuts highs; above noon it boosts highs and cuts lows. The rotary switch offers three distinct tone-shaping modes, with an OFF position that disables the Tone circuit.
