Sir Reel

Back in the good old 1970s, many guitarists used a simple trick to push their tube amps and achieve rich, saturated distortion sounds. They used the preamp of a tape echo unit, which remained active even when the delay was bypassed, to significantly boost the input signal. The FFX Sir Reel Pedal is inspired by vintage Dynacord-style tape delays. The input stage of the preamp and the output section are both adjustable. With the Blend control, the direct signal can be mixed in continuously. The preamp behaves like a vintage tape delay preamp rather than a typical clean booster, also recreating the characteristic tonal coloration of those classic units.
