The Apex is a studio-grade compressor designed for clean, precise dynamics control with high headroom and excellent fidelity. Built around a THAT VCA chip, it delivers transparent compression in a compact format. The ratio ranges from subtle smoothing to full limiting, while the threshold adapts from line-level signals down to low-output instruments. A variable high-pass filter in the sidechain lets you prevent low frequencies from triggering compression, making it ideal for bass while preserving natural playing dynamics. Up to 20 dB of makeup gain ensures you can recover or boost your signal easily. A detailed compression meter provides clear visual feedback at all times. The Apex is now discontinued due to the VCA chip no longer being available.
