Locust Star

The Locust Star is a modern take on the classic LM308 Rat distortion, built as a versatile, small-batch dirt pedal. It replaces the traditional tone control with an active shelving EQ, giving powerful Bass and Treble shaping from deep lows to bright or warm textures. With both at noon the EQ is flat; adjust both to dial mid-forward or scooped tones. A three-way Clip switch offers silicon diodes, LEDs, or no diodes for everything from classic Rat grind to open, chip-driven overdrive. The Range control reduces the original mid bump and gain, unlocking smoother, fuller tones. An internal charge pump boosts headroom, delivering improved dynamics and even touch-sensitive, preamp-like behavior when pushed.
