Reel Dealuxe

The Templo Devices Reel Dealuxe Tape Preamp and Vibrato is a preamp, distortion and modulation pedal based on the preamp section of a vintage Revox reel-to-reel tape recorder, combined with Templo’s Model 33 Smooth vibrato. A three-position Tape Speed switch provides full-frequency response or two progressively stronger bass cuts for mid-focused and treble-boosted sounds. The Limit switch introduces optical compression of higher frequencies for a more compressed, muffled tape-like response, while an Overload LED increases in brightness as distortion increases. The Invert switch adds dry signal to the vibrato to create a phasing effect. The preamp can range from clean boost to distortion and fuzz, with an internal switch providing additional fuzz. A second internal switch links the two footswitches for simultaneous activation or bypass of both sections. The pedal also includes an ultra-low-impedance XLR output.
