JHS
Smiley
Report incorrect information
The JHS Smiley is a silicon fuzz based on early silicon-era Arbiter Fuzz Face circuits from around 1969. It is designed to reproduce their more aggressive, stable silicon character, with defined low end, crisp midrange and sustained fuzz that can approach distortion-like sounds. Like the vintage circuit, it responds strongly to the guitar’s volume control and can clean up as the guitar volume is reduced. The interface retains the traditional Volume and Fuzz controls, with Volume setting output level and Fuzz controlling saturation. A side-mounted Mode button activates JHS Mode, which increases the gain and introduces a more gated fuzz response.
