The Chase Bliss CXM 1978 is a stereo digital reverb pedal developed in collaboration with Meris, inspired by late-1970s digital reverb technology. It features Room, Hall and Plate algorithms with adjustable frequency-dependent decay, crossover filtering, diffusion and three levels of tank modulation. The Clock control selects three processing modes: HiFi (48 kHz/32-bit), Standard (24 kHz/16-bit) and LoFi (variable 48–2.4 kHz/16-bit), allowing adjustments from high-fidelity ambience to degraded digital textures. Motorized faders provide physical feedback when recalling presets or receiving external control. The pedal includes 30 onboard presets, MIDI, CV, expression and AUX control, balanced or unbalanced stereo I/O, analog dry-through and buffered bypass. It operates from 9V DC center-negative power at approximately 500 mA.
