Steel String (Slight Return)

The Vertex Steel String Slight Return Edition is a single-channel analog preamp, boost and overdrive based on Dumble Steel String Singer #001. Designed as a compact amp-in-a-box, it adds the glassy highs, low-end snap, compression and harmonic character associated with D-style clean tones to an existing amplifier. At lower Gain settings it works as a fat clean boost and tone shaper, while higher settings introduce warm, compressed breakup and progress into overdrive. The Filter control provides active midrange shaping, while the Rock/Jazz switch changes the overall voicing, including the balance of highs and lows. It operates from 9–18V DC for additional flexibility and uses true-bypass switching.
