Messenger Pro

The Broughton Audio Messenger Pro is a studio-grade preamp and EQ for electronic instruments, designed for both live and studio use. Its continuously variable input impedance ranges from 100 kΩ to 10 MΩ, allowing optimization for active instruments, guitar and bass pickups, and piezo systems. The low-noise gain stage provides 0 to +20 dB with selectable phase inversion. A switchable HPF/notch filter can remove low-end buildup, resonances or feedback frequencies. EQ includes ±15 dB bass and treble shelving, plus a ±15 dB parametric mid control adjustable from 200 Hz to 2 kHz. A footswitchable boost provides up to +10 dB, while a separate electronic Mute provides click-free muting. Outputs include low-impedance 1/4" mono and balanced XLR with mic/line selection, phantom-power protection and ground lift. Requires 9–18V DC, center-negative, rated at least 200 mA.
