Afterburner Overdrive

The Afterburner Overdrive is designed to capture Billy Gibbons’ polished, high-gain guitar tones from ZZ Top’s Afterburner and Recycler era. Rather than cloning a specific pedal, it uses a custom overdrive circuit voiced for tight low end, smooth saturated mids, strong harmonic response and clarity at higher gain settings. Its refined clipping stage provides germanium-inspired harmonic behavior, emphasizing the pinch harmonics and compressed response associated with Gibbons’ mid-1980s to early-1990s tones. The pedal has no additional modes or voicing switches and uses studio-grade dual op-amps, true bypass switching and 9V DC power.
