Tibetan Quaalude

The Tibetan Quaalude is a JFET preamp pedal designed to recreate the sound and architecture of a Sunn Model T amplifier. Its circuit uses multiple cascaded JFET gain stages and includes a separate high-gain JFET boost before the preamp, which can also operate independently. Normal and Brite controls set the levels of the two channels, while Bass, Midrange and Treble form an interactive FMV tone stack. Volume functions like the Model T’s master volume before the output stage, while Master controls the final output level. Internal switches provide two boost gain levels, original or extended-low-frequency voicing via Ultra Lo, and Separate or Slave operation for the boost. The pedal can function as a clean preamp, boost, overdrive/distortion, pedal platform, or feed an external power amplifier directly.
