Crooked Axis (Black & Purple)

The Crooked Axis is a multipurpose boost, overdrive, distortion and fuzz based on the classic Colorsound Power Boost discrete-transistor circuit. Drive controls input gain, while the post-drive active Bass and Treble controls shape the final tone and Master allows heavily driven settings at lower output levels. Range cuts low frequencies before the drive section, tightening the distortion and enabling more aggressive, grinding textures. The three-position Blast switch substantially changes the gain character, ranging from classic boost response through loose, saggy overdrive to heavier distortion and fuzz with increased low end. It operates from 9V DC using an internal voltage doubler for 18V operation, drawing 15 mA. It can also be powered at 12V DC for additional headroom and output, drawing 25 mA. Battery operation is not supported.
