Overdrive Clipper

The Hagerman Amplification Overdrive Clipper is a dual-12AX7 tube preamp and overdrive designed around Dumble-style amplifier tones, using an original circuit rather than a direct clone. The Color control provides EQ ranging from a Robben Ford-inspired setting at minimum to a rock-mode response at noon. The Lift switch removes this EQ stage and provides a 10 dB gain boost. Drive adjusts input gain for different pickup levels, while the Clip switch engages a higher-gain section using an all-tube symmetrical clipping circuit. A separate tilt-style Tone control shapes the resulting signal, and Level controls output. It can be used as a conventional overdrive or as a preamp connected directly to an amplifier’s effects-loop return or power amp.
