The Hagerman Amplification EF86 Booster is an all-analog vacuum-tube boost pedal built around an EF86 pentode. The Drive control adjusts the amount of tube gain, ranging from clean boost to warmer clipping with increased second-order harmonics. The Tone control shapes the frequency response and, at maximum, provides a treble-booster response similar to a Tube Screamer. The circuit provides up to 20 dB of gain, a 30 Hz–10 kHz bandwidth, 2V input before clipping and up to 7 Vrms output. The EF86 operates from an internal 85V tube supply for high headroom. It features true bypass and requires 9V DC center-negative power at 200 mA.
