Ubiquity v1

The October Audio Ubiquity is a dual op-amp overdrive pedal featuring selectable soft and hard clipping and pre- and post-gain frequency filtering. Volume sets output level, while Gain adjusts the first amplification stage, with a second stage providing additional gain. Pre-Clip controls a high-pass filter before clipping, determining how much low-frequency content is overdriven, while Filter adjusts a post-gain low-pass filter to reduce high frequencies. The Drive mode uses symmetrical soft clipping for a cleaner, louder overdrive, while Distort engages asymmetrical hard clipping for increased saturation and fuzzier textures. The circuit uses silicon and Schottky diodes and a socketed LM1458 dual op-amp that can be replaced for tonal experimentation.
