October Audio
F Division, fd.2
Report incorrect information
The October Audio F Division FD.2 is a monophonic sub-octave synthesizer and glitch fuzz pedal based on CMOS logic circuits. An internal counter/divider generates signals one and two octaves below the input, each independently activated by a toggle switch. A separate CMOS XOR-based fuzz circuit produces frequency-doubling effects and upper-octave harmonics, with a PWM control adjusting the fuzz character from filtered square-wave textures to gated, sputtering distortion. Dedicated Sub and Fuzz controls adjust the mix and output level of the two sections. Compared with the original FD.1, which offered three sub-octaves and a subtle drive, FD.2 removes the third sub-octave and introduces the adjustable PWM fuzz circuit. Its monophonic tracking becomes increasingly glitchy at lower notes.
