NOS Rangemaster
Report incorrect information
The British Pedal Company Compact Series NOS Rangemaster is a treble booster pedal based on the original 1965 Dallas Rangemaster circuit. It features an original 1960s Mullard OC44 germanium transistor, known for its bright, driven tonal character, and a vintage Welwyn potentiometer from the same period. Designed to boost upper frequencies while tightening the low end, it can push tube amplifiers into increased saturation, producing a focused, overdriven sound. The pedal recreates the original circuit in a compact, pedalboard-friendly enclosure and supports a negative 9V power supply. The original Rangemaster is associated with guitarists including Eric Clapton, Tony Iommi, Rory Gallagher and Brian May, particularly when paired with classic British amplifiers such as the Marshall Bluesbreaker and Vox AC30.
