Aspen One Germanium
Report incorrect information
The Case Study Aspen One Germanium is a dual-function overdrive and boost pedal combining an Expandora-inspired drive circuit with an independent transparent MOSFET boost. The Aspen Drive covers sounds ranging from light overdrive to high-gain distortion and fuzz, featuring increased output volume, adjustable bass response and improved fuzz-mode stability. This version uses hand-selected vintage germanium clipping diodes, producing softer clipping, smoother high frequencies and a more rounded distortion character compared with the Silicon edition. The MOSFET boost provides clean amplification at moderate settings and introduces clipping at higher levels. A toggle switch reverses the effects order, allowing boost-before-drive or drive-before-boost configurations. Additional features include an all-analog signal path, true bypass, relay switching and a TRS remote-control input for external switching of the boost and Aspen gain mode.
