The JHS Fumble is a JFET-based clean boost and preamp derived from the Dumble BBC-1 circuit, which traces its design to a 1970s Barcus Berry acoustic preamp. Originally featured as the clean section of the JHS NOTADÜMBLË V1, the circuit is now available as a standalone pedal. It features two controls: Output adjusts the overall volume, while Input simultaneously attenuates low frequencies and input gain. Turning Input clockwise produces a fuller, higher-output signal, while turning it counterclockwise reduces bass and gain for a tighter, brighter response. The Fumble can be used as a clean boost, to drive other pedals or amplifiers, or to adjust the tonal response of an instrument signal. It features true bypass switching.
