Freeze

The Electro-Harmonix Freeze is a sound retainer/sustain pedal that captures and holds any played note or chord, creating an indefinitely sustained layer to play over. A momentary footswitch samples the incoming signal in real time with seamless looping, while releasing the switch returns the pedal to standby, ready to capture a new sound. A three-position mode switch selects Fast and Slow decay modes for smooth transitions between frozen sounds, or Latch mode, where the captured note remains sustained until a new sample is triggered. Designed for creating drones, ambient textures, and sustained harmonic backdrops, the Freeze works well on its own or combined with other effects to build evolving soundscapes.
