The Chemist

The Matthews Effects Chemist is a compact multi-modulation pedal combining chorus/vibrato, octave, and phaser effects within a single enclosure. Designed around a simple analog-style interface, it features two independently configurable channels that can be switched instantly via footswitch for quick access to different sounds. The pedal uses shared multi-function controls labeled Reaction, Catalyst, and Formula, with each effect mode assigning different functions to the knobs. An external control input allows remote channel switching, and the pedal operates with true bypass switching and standard 9V power. The Chemist was designed to provide multiple modulation and pitch-based effects in a compact format while keeping all controls directly accessible without menu navigation.
