The Fulltone Obsessive Compulsive Drive V1.7 is an overdrive/distortion pedal designed to provide a wide dynamic range with less compression than traditional diode-clipping overdrives. Its circuit combines a JFET op-amp with MOSFET hard clipping to produce tube-like overdrive while preserving the character of the guitar and amplifier. The Drive, Tone, and Volume controls adjust gain, high-frequency response, and output level, while the HP/LP switch selects between a High Peak mode with more bass, gain, output, and upper mids, or a Low Peak mode that preserves the original tone with minimal coloration. The pedal features true bypass switching and can operate from 9V to 18V DC, with higher voltages providing increased dynamic range, clarity, and headroom.
