The Boss CP-1X Compressor is a digital multiband compressor that uses BOSS's Multi-Dimensional Processing (MDP) technology to analyze your playing in real time and apply natural, transparent compression without significantly altering your guitar's original tone. Unlike traditional stompbox compressors, it adapts to different frequencies, playing dynamics, pickup types, and techniques, delivering consistent compression with low noise and high clarity. A 16-segment gain reduction meter provides real-time visual feedback, while the simple four-knob interface controls a complex processing engine behind the scenes. Its internal 18V processing offers increased headroom for clean, punchy performance with everything from single-coils to high-output, 7- and 8-string guitars, as well as electro-acoustic instruments.
