Fender Shields Blender
Report incorrect information
The Fender Shields Blender is a fuzz pedal developed in collaboration with guitarist Kevin Shields, based on his vintage 1970s Fender Blender. The circuit recreates the aggressive, dynamic fuzz character of the original while adding expanded routing and blending options.
The pedal features two independently switchable fuzz channels with separate level controls. One mode blends the fuzz signal with the clean guitar signal, while another combines the fuzz with a sub-octave fuzz for thicker and more aggressive textures. A dedicated Sag function introduces voltage-starved behavior, producing gated, sputtering, and dynamically responsive effects that react to playing intensity.
Designed around the original Fender Blender circuit but expanded for modern performance use, the Shields Blender covers a range of sounds from classic octave-fuzz textures to heavily layered fuzz and experimental gated effects.
