GeSi Face MKI

The JRR Pedals GeSi Face is a hybrid Fuzz Face-style fuzz combining a high-gain BC549 silicon transistor in the first stage with a medium-gain MP38 germanium transistor in the second. Unlike many hybrid designs, the germanium stage follows the silicon stage, providing germanium character with the added consistency of silicon. The external Sol knob controls bias; at 12 o’clock, with the internal trimmers at their default positions, the pedal reproduces the original GeSi Face circuit. Internal controls include a Clean trimmer for cleaner, brighter tones or adapting high-output pickups, plus separate first- and second-stage bias trimmers. The second-stage bias adjustment also extends the available range of the Sol control.
