Shanks 4K

The Shanks 4K is a germanium fuzz pedal developed in collaboration with producer and guitarist John Shanks, inspired by the dynamic fuzz and overdrive tones of the 1960s. Built around two vintage germanium transistors, it recreates the touch-sensitive response associated with classic Fuzz Face-style circuits while offering a wide tonal range and increased headroom. The pedal can produce bright, articulate clean boost tones, edgy crunch, or thick saturated fuzz depending on the guitar volume and control settings. Raising the Fuzz and Bass controls delivers heavier, fuller distortion, while the internal Fuzz Color trimmer adjusts the character from spitty, gated fuzz to smoother overdrive-like textures. Designed for expressive playing dynamics, the Shanks 4K responds strongly to picking intensity and guitar volume adjustments.
