Tephra

The Sentimental Bob Electronics Tephra is a RAT-inspired distortion pedal that significantly expands on the classic circuit with additional clipping, octave, and boost options. Built around the LM308 op-amp, it offers six selectable clipping modes: Op-Amp, Asymmetrical Silicon, Symmetrical Silicon, MOSFET, LED, and Germanium, providing a wide range of distortion textures and compression characteristics. The pedal includes a dedicated octave effect and an independent MOSFET clean boost, allowing the boost to be used either with the distortion section or separately elsewhere in the signal chain. Controls include Volume, Distortion, Filter, Octave, and clipping selection, with gain available well beyond a standard RAT. Additional features include soft-touch footswitches, relay-based true bypass switching, and an A/B-style architecture that allows the distortion and boost sections to be used independently.
