Artist Preamp (Black)

The Artist Preamp is a versatile gain and tone-shaping pedal inspired by the active electronics found in late-1970s artist-series guitars. Rather than functioning strictly as a preamp, boost, distortion or fuzz, it combines elements of each. Its active EQ provides independent bass and treble boost/cut, allowing substantial control over the instrument’s frequency response. A responsive Gain control shapes both dynamics and harmonic content: at lower settings, the pedal works primarily as an EQ and harmonic enhancer while retaining the instrument’s character; higher settings introduce increasingly saturated drive and fuzz-like textures. It operates from 9–18V, with higher voltage providing increased headroom.
