Secret-1

The Secret-EFX Secret-1 is an overdrive and clean boost designed to preserve the character and playing dynamics of the guitar and amplifier. Its original circuit was developed by electronics designer Guido Borghesani after builder Luca Cesaroni sought a boost that would not significantly alter the sound of his instruments. At low Gain settings, it functions as a transparent clean boost, while higher settings provide progressively richer overdrive. The circuit is designed to avoid introducing excessive high frequencies as gain increases, allowing the Tone control to shape the response independently and add presence without producing an overly sharp top end. The pedal is made in Italy and housed in a rugged military-surplus-style enclosure.
