Studio Bass Compressor

The Seymour Duncan Studio Bass V2 is a VCA-based bass compressor and limiter offering soft-knee compression from 1:1 to greater than 20:1. A three-position Full/Mid/Low switch selects the frequency range affected by the compression, while the Blend control mixes the compressed and uncompressed signals for parallel compression. The circuit provides up to +33 dB of gain and an adjustable attack time from 8 to 27 ms, allowing both transparent dynamic control and heavier compression. It has a 1 MΩ input impedance, maximum 2.75 kΩ output impedance and less than 0.3% distortion at 300 mV RMS output. The V2 retains the performance of the original Studio Bass while introducing a redesigned retro-style enclosure.
