Pique
Report incorrect information
The Mile End Effects Pique is a preamp/boost, high-headroom buffer and harmonic enhancer based on the company’s Preamp 150 design. Its boost section recreates the JFET preamp of the Roland RE-150 Space Echo using the same type of NOS JFET transistors, providing clean boost and harmonic coloration. The unity-gain buffer operates internally at 18V and converts high-impedance signals to low impedance for driving long cables, pedal chains and line-level equipment. Three switchable tone-processing functions provide additional shaping: High Freq adds filtered harmonic saturation above 1.5 kHz, Brilliance emphasizes high frequencies through filtering, and Low Freq applies phase shift, saturation and compression below 150 Hz. The sections are controlled by rocker switches and a master footswitch. It requires 9V DC center-negative power at 250 mA.
