Nano Small Stone 2006

The Electro-Harmonix Small Stone is a 4-stage analog phaser originally designed by David Cockerell and introduced in 1974. Unlike the MXR Phase 90, which uses JFET transistors, the Small Stone is built around an OTA (operational transconductance amplifier) architecture, giving it its distinctive smooth, liquid phase-shifting character. The pedal features a Rate control for adjusting the sweep speed and a Color switch that increases feedback to produce a deeper, more resonant phase effect. Capable of everything from subtle movement to dramatic swirling textures, the Small Stone became a classic thanks to its rich, transparent sound and has been used by artists including David Gilmour and Carlos Alomar. Its unique voice has also inspired numerous modern phaser designs.
