The Aclam Dr. Robert Unknown Pleasures Ltd. Edition is a preamp/overdrive pedal that faithfully recreates the Normal channel of Aclam's Vox UL730 (S/N 3042) amplifier, capturing the distinctive tones heard on The Beatles' Revolver as well as Joy Division's Unknown Pleasures. The circuit replicates the original UL730 preamp and adds a custom FET saturation stage to emulate the amp's EL84 power section. Its unique Mids control shapes both EQ and saturation, while the Disorder! footswitch engages an additional gain stage with an independent volume control for lead sounds. Internal Bass, Treble, and Disorder! Gain trimmers provide further tone shaping. Optimized for both guitar and bass, the pedal features intelligent true-bypass relay switching with automatic fail-safe bypass during power loss
