Report incorrect information
The Klon KTR is an overdrive and clean boost pedal designed by Bill Finnegan as the successor to the original Klon Centaur, developed in the 1990s. It retains the Centaur's circuit architecture while replacing the original handwired construction with surface-mount components (SMD). The circuit combines a clean signal path with an overdriven signal, progressively blending the two as gain increases to preserve note definition and picking dynamics. It features three controls: Gain adjusts the amount of overdrive, Treble shapes the high-frequency response, and Output sets the overall signal level. The KTR can operate as a clean boost, low-gain overdrive or moderately saturated drive. Its design incorporates germanium diode clipping, an internal voltage-doubling circuit for increased headroom, and a switchable buffered or true bypass mode.
