The Moth Electric S. abbottii Fuzzstortion is an expanded take on the classic Percolator circuit, designed for improved stability and usability while retaining its aggressive character. It ranges from harmonic-rich crunchy overdrive at lower gain to blown-out fuzz, with strong response to guitar or bass volume controls. Heavy adjusts the low-frequency content entering the first transistor, while Tone provides post-gain low-pass filtering to tame fizz and darken the sound. Drive controls gain and Volume sets output level. The Clip control progressively blends the clipping diodes into the circuit, ranging from no diode clipping to full compression. A Sym/Asym switch selects smoother, more compressed symmetrical clipping or asymmetrical clipping with additional harmonics. It is less buffer-sensitive than the original circuit and unaffected by ambient temperature. Hand-built in the USA with through-hole construction, top-mounted jacks and true bypass.
